Yes, we can, indeed, be seduced by all manner of things in this world, things that have no bearing on what is truly important.
It is important to enjoy ourselves and to grow. Hence, it is important to have fun, to rejoice, to play. As well as to do the all-important inner work and move towards being our True Selves, being the Greatness that we all are, which is the Invincible Love that resides within all of us.
Why a Love that is invincible?
Why a Love that is invincible? Because it is eternal, it cannot be vanquished. Because we too are eternal and cannot die. Our bodies will perish but we will never die.
And, mostly, we are afraid that we would. Why? Because that is the perspective of our human selves and most of us are primarily identified with that perishable part of ourselves. And we are afraid we would perish, we are afraid we won’t survive. We are afraid we would suffer, in the process of living and moving towards our death.
We want to not suffer, we want to diminish all pain, we want to feel good about ourselves by looking good in the eyes of others because we judge ourselves in the first place, and yes, we feel judged by others too, something that began ages ago, when we didn’t feel we measured up, and therefore not good enough.
Focus primarily on loving & honouring ourselves
So, does it not make sense then, to focus primarily on loving and honouring ourselves so much that we need not seek this love and respect from others?
Does it not make sense then, to make this the most important thing we need to do, above all else rather than bend over backwards to win awards and accolades, and seek approval and appreciation from others?
To be self-determined rather than reliant on things we cannot possibly control, which then would upset us in some shape or form? Causing illness even, if prolonged and accumulated?
And yet, we strive so hard in this madness of seeking from outside of ourselves, be it to please other human beings or some God that we think is separate from us and most definitely above us or greater than we can possibly be when, in fact, we are told we were made in the likeness of God or that there is a Buddha within us.
Why do we choose to act as if we are lesser than?
Why do we choose to believe some things told to us and not other things? Why do we choose to act as if we are lesser than?
God or the Greatness of the Divine is within us, in every cell, and all around us, everywhere we go. In the entire Universe. In all of Existence. And Oneness means there is no separation. We are a hologram of the Universe, which also means we carry the exact same parts, features or attributes. We cannot be lesser than.
